A 30-year-old man is currently in police custody being questioned on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and possession of a class A drug. It comes following reports of a man walking along Eskdale Road armed with a suspected weapon at approximately 8.55am on Monday 17 November. While enquiries are ongoing, officers are appealing for information, CCTV and dash cam footage.
